otherwise, this job search is really taking its toll. these last three weeks have been a complete exercise in humility. forget the fact that i have 10-12 years professional experience because that doesn't seem to matter much anymore. we're in a different market altogether. i am competing with people coming out of college this year, or worse yet people who haven't yet attended.

their wages are my wages. their experience is not my experience but it is in most employer's eyes. a sad but true reality. and thus i am in pursuit of an organization or company that is willing to still measure merit for what it is, time spent in development. a group that is looking to invest on tried and true work ethic, not the uncertainty of a yet to be tested prospect.

society would have me believe that the odds are against me and although i'm tempted to believe them, i simply cannot.

i have an intimate understanding of needs versus wants and i can assure you that i am steadily moving closer to needing this provision for my family. my life savings has all but been liquidated and i'm no longer able to depend on the security of earlier financial planning. it was an emergency fund after all so i'm not concerned about having to utilize these funds, however it doesn't say much for the inability to sustain myself through any other crises situation.
